How we ship and how that impacts you.
We primarily ship via FedEx. We do this for a few different reasons. First, we ship mainly FedEx because we have a relationship with them and know how to best deal with the inevitable shipping issues that every courier faces. Second, all of our packages go fully insured via FedEx. When we ship expensive camera gear we want to make sure everything gets from our doors to yours in one piece. All shipments that leave our stores will go with insurance for your peace of mind.
We will ship items with very little value or books via USPS. Items of value cannot be shipped via USPS because of insurance and reliability concerns.
Direct Signature Required
All orders ship to your address with a direct signature required. This means that you must be at your shipping address when the package is delivered or else Fedex will not deliver the package. Three attempts will be made before sending the package back to us. In some cases, we can request a hold at a Fedex shipping location but this is not always the case. Please contact us if you have any questions concerning a package hold.
Our shipping cut-off time is 2 pm PST. Orders made after this time will be processed and shipped the next business day. We do not ship orders Saturday and Sunday. We do our best to ship orders as soon as possible Monday - Friday. Usually, shipping tracking is not emailed to you until later in the day PST time.

International Shipments
All international shipments are shipped via FedEx. Camera West is not liable for any duties and taxes due on import. Please note that international shipments may take longer to ship from our facilities due to additional work that needs to be done preparing the shipment.
